What clothing should I wear?
As the Dirty Hero events take place in May and July, chances are it could be quite warm. However it is the UK, so it doesn’t necessarily mean the weather will be favourable.
Normal running gear is usually the best choice, lightweight and preferably something that does not hold water too much. As a number of the obstacles do involve water you will definitely get very wet, any clothing that can shed the water quickly will be much more suitable. If it is cool, then it is is advisable to wear a base thermal layer under your normal running gear.
What about Footwear?
A good off road trainer is advisable. As many of the areas may be slippy a good off road or lightly studded sole would be best.
However please do not wear large studded footwear (i.e. football boots) or running spikes of any sort, both of these are dangerous to both yourself and other people around you.
You will NOT be able to take part if you wear large studded footwear or spikes.
Do I have to complete all the obstacles?
Dirty Hero is a personal challenge and as such if you wish to miss out an obstacle you can do so. All of the obstacles are manageable, however some can be quite challenging and some may need assistance from fellow participants.
We at Dirty Hero appreciate that people of all levels of fitness and ability wish to complete Dirty Hero, so we have devised varying degrees of difficulty at many of the obstacles, so that if you wish a tougher challenge then opt for the more difficult option of completing the obstacle, likewise if you need an easier option to get over an obstacle , that will be in place too.
Do I need to be able to swim?
No. There are quite a number of water based obstacles in Dirty Hero, however the maximum depth of water will be around waist deep. We will have safety cover in place at all obstacles with specific water safety cover where required.
Can my friends and family come along to watch?
Yes, of course. We want all your supporters to have a great day as well as yourself.
Friends, family, in fact any supporters are welcome to come along and watch. Entry for spectators is FREE.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there will be parking available. The cost for parking will be £5 per car. Please do not park in any unauthorised locations as we wish to maintain the goodwill with the local residents who have welcomed Dirty Hero to the area.
Are all the obstacles the same at each venue?
